Tallying 50% of paper trail will delay results by 5 days: EC

The Election Commission told the Supreme Court on Friday that counting VVPAT slips of 50 per cent EVMs, as demanded by 21 non-NDA political parties, could delay declaration of results of the general elections by five days with no gain to the existing 99.99 per cent voter confidence in the voting machines.
