Driving licences to be uniform across India

The new Driving Licences (DLs) and vehicle registration certificates (RCs) issued July 2019 onwards will be embedded with microchips which will have QR codes. Traffic enforcers with hand-held devices will be easily able to access details stored in the cards. The new DLs will be uniform in colour, design, security features across the country.
