India frets as ‘pro-China’ Oli still to appoint envoy

The Nepal mission in New Delhi has been without an ambassador since October 2017, when Deep Kumar Upadhyay left to run for office. The mission is currently headed by deputy chief of mission Bharat Regmi. In July, Nepalese media reports said the cabinet had selected former election commissioner N K Upreti to be the next ambassador.
