#MeToo: Akbar calls charges 'wild and baseless'

Junior minister for external affairs M J Akbar called the allegations of misconduct against him as “false and fabricated, spiced up by innuendo and malice”. Akbar said two of the journalists who had made allegations against him continued to work with him even after the alleged incidents. He hinted that the allegations were politically motivated because of their timing as the general election is only a few months away.
