Sponsoring green card for parents to get tougher

A draft US proposal, dealing with ‘public charge’, is heavily skewed in favour of the wealthy when it comes to issuing green cards. US immigration authorities will have discretion to deny green cards to those with income below 250% of federal poverty guidelines. Nearly 25% of recent Indian immigrants have income below that threshold.
