Priyanka Gandhi takes political plunge

Priyanka Vadra Gandhi has been appointed as Congress general secretary, in charge of East UP. The announcement by Cong president Rahul Gandhi came as a surprise for many Cong leaders. Eastern UP has strong presence of Brahmins and Muslims which Congress would want to bank on. The region includes PM Modi's Varanasi LS seat and UP CM Adityanath's Gorakhpur seat.
