Data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) on Wednesday showed retail inflation as measured by the consumer price index (CPI) rose an annual 4.6% in October, faster than the 4% recorded in the previous month and higher than the 3.4% in October 2018. The surge was largely led by food prices, the index for which shot up to 7.9% in October from 5.1% in the previous month.
