Camilla To Wear Queen Elizabeth's Coronation Robe For Ceremony. See Pics

King Charles III's wife Camilla will wear the coronation robes made for Queen Elizabeth II when she is crowned Queen Consort on May 6. On Saturday, Buckingham Palace released new photos of the coronation robes that King Charles and Camilla will wear for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Following the tradition, King Charles and Camilla will wear two different robes each - the Robes of State and the Robes of Estate. According to The Independent, while Robes of State will be worn on arrival at Westminster Abbey, the Robes of Estate will be worn as the duo leave at the end of the service.

"A first glimpse before Coronation day," the official account of the Royal Family wrote on Instagram while sharing a series of images of the robes.

Take a look below:

The pictures show the Royal School of Needlework's embroidery team conserving The King's Robe of State, which will be worn by King Charles upon his arrival at Westminster Abbey, and Camilla's Robe of Estate, which will be worn after she is crowned.

According to The Independent, the King will wear his grandfather George VI's Robes of State and Estate from the 1937 coronation, which are nearly 90 years old and have been conserved and prepared for the occasion. Camilla, on the other hand, will wear the late Queen's crimson Robe of State which was made for Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and has been conserved with adjustments. It features a train of 5.5 metres.

One brand new Robe of Estate has also been made for the Queen Consort to wear at the ceremony. The new robe has been designed in purple velvet to match the King's. It has been hand embroidered by the Royal School of Needlework.

The robe pays tribute to the King by incorporating delphiniums - one of his favourite flowers which is also Camilla's birth month flower - and in memory of Elizabeth II includes the late Queen's favourite bloom, lily of the valley. It also features national emblems - the rose, thistle and shamrock.

Madhuri Dixit's Husband And Paytm CEO Share A Special "Vada Pav Moment" In Mumbai

Vada pav is one of the most beloved Maharashtrian snacks, a wholesome and spicy desi-style burger that's an absolute treat for the taste buds. It's worth noting that Michelin Star chefs have rated vada pav as one of the world's best burgers. Recently, Dr. Shriram Nene, the husband of Madhuri Dixit, was spotted relishing this popular snack with Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma in Mumbai. Dr. Nene took to Twitter to share a picture of his "vada pav moment" at Swati Snacks, where he enjoyed the dish with tall glasses of juice and a cup of chai. He tweeted, "Our vada pav moment at #swatisnack. The company made the experience unforgettable." Vijay Shekhar Sharma quote-tweeted his post, saying, "I call it the 'poor man's' vada-pao moment." Take a look:

The photo has quickly grabbed the attention of foodies everywhere. In reference to Madhuri Dixit's previous vada pav binge session with Tim Cook at the same cafe, one user wrote, "The Nene-Dixit duo should be appointed Global Vada Pav ambassadors, which would give a big boost to domestic and international tourism.

"One user was curious about the beverages being served, asking, 'Are those glasses filled with sugar cane juice or lassi?"

"A user put a spin on the popular saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and wrote, ''Is it the doctor's way to recommend one vada pav a day?''

Earlier this year, Madhuri Dixit took Apple CEO Tim Cook to a special vada pav treat in Mumbai. Cook was in India to launch the company's first-ever retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. In the picture, Dixit and Cook are sharing a candid moment as they enjoy vada pav, with a plate of green and tamarind dips visible in the background. Sharing the photo on Twitter, the actress wrote, ''Can't think of a better welcome to Mumbai than Vada Pav!'' Cook replied with a note of appreciation, writing, ''Thanks, @madhuridixit, for introducing me to my very first Vada Pav — it was delicious!''

Viral Picture Of Padlock On Grave Not From Pak: A Fact Check

A fact-check has indicated that an agency report about parents putting padlocks on graves of their daughters in Pakistan to save them from a rising spate of necrophilia was incorrect. Many news sites, including NDTV, ran the report of news agency ANI that has been fact-checked by AltNews. NDTV had sent a mail to ANI late this evening. A response is awaited.

The report of ANI was based on Daily Times article, and a viral tweet by Harris Sultan, an ex-Muslim atheist activist and the author of the book "The Curse of God, why I left Islam".

In the tweet, he had shared photos of a padlocked grave and accused Pakistan of creating a "sexually frustrated society", where "people are now putting padlocks on the graves of their daughters to prevent them from getting raped".

AltNews fact checker Mohammed Zubair tweeted that the photograph in question, showing a green painted  grille, was from Hyderabad. The reason grilles are used is to stop people from burying bodies over the old graves without permission, he tweeted quoting locals.

The grave was that of an old woman, whose son had installed the grille. It was also meant to stop people from stepping on the grave since it was near a doorway, he tweeted.

After the fact-check by AltNews, Harris Sultan said he was deleting his earlier tweet.

The ANI report mentioned that women's bodies were said to have been unearthed and desecrated on several occasions. A necrophilia case was reported in Pakistan in 2011 when a grave keeper named Muhammad Rizwan from North Nazimabad, Karachi was arrested after he confessed to raping 48 female corpses.

Donald Trump Vows To "Crush" Joe Biden In 2024 Election

Donald Trump vowed Thursday to "crush" Joe Biden in the 2024 election, warning in his first campaign stop since his successor entered the 2024 race that the United States will descend into "anarchy" if the Republican billionaire isn't returned to office.

The defiant address at a hotel in Manchester, New Hampshire, came with the twice-impeached former president's legal woes multiplying, as a writer who accuses Trump of rape testified for a second day at a civil trial in New York.

"The choice in this election is now between strength or weakness, between success or failure, between safety or anarchy, between peace or conflict, and prosperity or catastrophe," Trump told a relatively-modest crowd of around 1,500 supporters.

"We are living in a catastrophe. With your vote on November 5, 2024, we are going to crush Joe Biden and the White House... at the ballot box, and we are going to settle our unfinished business."

It was Trump's first appearance since January in the Granite State, which propelled him to victory in the 2016 Republican nominating contest after a shaky start in Iowa.

Biden, 80, announced Tuesday he would seek a second term in 2024, warning that the next election, like the last, would be a "battle for the soul."

Many top Republicans say Trump, 76, is positioning himself to lose again after leading Republicans to poor showings in the 2020 general election and in the last two midterm cycles.

"Republicans want someone who can win in November of '24. Donald Trump is a loser," New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who is said to be mulling a rival presidential bid, told NBC on Sunday.

Nine Republicans in the US Senate have endorsed the billionaire, but others are warning that prosecutions enmeshing Trump might undermine their hopes of taking the upper chamber of Congress back from the Democrats next year.

Trump is being sued for battery and defamation in civil proceedings in New York, accused of raping writer E Jean Carroll in 1996, and has been indicted over a 2016 hush money payment to a porn star in a criminal case likely to stretch well into election year.

He also faces the possibility of charges from the Department of Justice and Georgia prosecutors in cases involving his attempts to overthrow the 2020 election and his hoarding of government documents.

Yet Trump has consistently maintained double-digit leads in Republican primary polling, running far ahead of his nearest likely rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, whom he described in his New Hampshire speech as "crashing and burning."

Trump, who denies all wrongdoing, angrily denounced the "endless witch hunts" against him, as he invariably does in public remarks, and told supporters he was retiring the "Crooked" nickname he uses to smear longtime foe Hillary Clinton and giving it to Biden instead.

Court Allows Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar To Buy Cake For Wife's Birthday

The Patiala House Court has permitted Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is facing several cases of money laundering and extortion, to purchase cake/pastry from the bakery shop of the Mandoli prison and it is further directed that said cake/pastry be handed over to under trial prisoner (UTP) Leena Paulose, (wife of Sukesh) on her birthday which is on April 28, 2023.

The Additional Sessions Judge Shailender Malik in an order passed on April 25, stated that having considered the submissions the precise prayer appears to be more on human emotions than any legal aspect involved in the application.

Be that as it may, the UTP needs to be given the confidence to be emotionally connected and attached to his family members and relatives. Therefore, I find no bar, more specifically when the concerned UTP Sukesh Chandrashekhar is seeking to purchase cake/pastry from the bakery of Mandoli Jail itself out of his prisoner fund and it is not that some article is being taken out of jail to be given to any of the UTP.

Therefore, Superintendent is directed to permit accused Sukesh Chandrashekhar to purchase cake/pastry from the bakery shop of the prison and it is further directed that said cake/pastry be handed over to UTP Leena Paulose on 28.04.2023, said the Court.

Incarcerated Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar is a prime accused in the Rs 200 Crore money laundering case being investigated by Enforcement Directorate. He is facing several other cases too being investigated by ED, Delhi Police's Economic Offence Wing etc.

The ED's case is based on an FIR filed by Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) against Sukesh Chandrasekhar who is accused of cheating and extorting Japna Singh and Aditi Singh, wife of former promoter of Religare Enterprises, who are in Judicial custody related to alleged misappropriation of funds at Religare Finvest Ltd.

Both Chandrasekhar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul were arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged role in the duping case.

Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez Nora Fatehi and other several names surfaced during the investigation of the Economic Offence Wing of the Delhi Police and Enforcement Directorate.

"Will Hold A Sit-In" If Amartya Sen's House Bulldozed: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday said that she will hold a sit-in at Bolpur in case authorities of the Visva Bharati University try to "bulldoze" Nobel laureate Amartya Sen's ancestral house 'Pratichi' in the campus area on the charge that he was illegally occupying more land than was leased out to him.

The University in an eviction order, has asked Mr Sen to vacate by May 6 or within 15 days of the publication of the last order, 0.13 aces (5,550 square feet) of the 1.38 acres of the leased land which the authorities claim the famed economist occupies in an "unauthorised manner".

Ms Banerjee told mediapersons here, "Amartya Sen is being attacked every day. I have seen their (VB's) audacity. I will be the first person to go there (Bolpur) if they (try to) bulldoze his house. I will hold a sit-in there.

"I want to see who is more powerful - bulldozer or humanity," she said.

Ms Banerjee had handed over to Mr Sen on January 30 documents of the state land and revenue department stating that the entire 1.38 acre of land belonged to the Sen's through a mutation done in 2006.

The university authorities have challenged the documents.

Its notice said, "Amartya Kumar Sen and all concerned persons are liable to be evicted from the said premises, if need be, by use of such force as may be necessary." "It is decided that 13 decimals of land having the dimension of 50 ft x 111 ft in the north-west corner of the scheduled premises is to be recovered from him," it said.

"Thus he (Sen) can lawfully occupy 1.25 acres of land only, as lessee (for the residual period of lease) in the scheduled premises," the notice issued by Joint Registrar Asish Mahato said.

The notice has been criticised by other political parties too including the Congress, which accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government of "targeting" Mr Sen for being a stern critic of the Hindutva forces.

Founded in 1921 by Rabindranath Tagore, Visva Bharati was a college till it was made a central university by an act of Parliament in 1951.

It is Bengal's only central university and the prime minister is its chancellor.

Harshal, Siraj Drop Sitters To Give Rana Two Lives. Trolled Heavily

Kolkata Knight Riders batters made merry at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against Royal Challengers Bangalore in an IPL 2023 match on Wednesday. Fiery knocks from Jason Roy, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh helped KKR notch a huge total of 200/5 in 20 overs. While the batters had a smooth outing, the same cannot be said about RCB stars Mohammed Siraj (4-0-33-1) and Harshal Patel (4-0-44-0). While they were costly with the ball, they were also poor in their fielding efforts. First, Siraj dropped KKR captain Nitish Rana, who was batting on 5, in the 13th over by Vijaykumar Vyshak. Then, Rana got yet another reprieve as he was dropped by Harshal in the 15th over off Siraj.

The duo was trolled heavily for the dropped chances.

Jason Roy led the show with a fiery fifty as Kolkata Knight Riders got their mojo back to notch a fighting 200 for five against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL on Wednesday. Having slipped to eighth spot after four losses on the trot, KKR finally got into the act with Roy setting tempo up front when he smashed five sixes and four boundaries en route to his 29-ball 56 as he and Narayan Jagadeesan (27; 29b) gave KKR their best ever start -- 83 runs from 56 balls.

KKR's batting came on either side of Sri Lankan legspin sensation Hasaranga's two terrific bowling spells as he returned with 4-0-24-2 that caused enough flutter.

First, his miserly spell after the powerplay gave the impetus for Vyshak's double blow when he dismissed Jagadeesan and Roy.

But Nitish Rana then ensured that they don't lose the momentum as he made full use of his two reprieves -- on five and 19 -- to race to his 21-ball 48 (3x4, 4x6).

KKR's new-found hero Rinku Singh (18 not out; 10b) then took charge as he smashed two fours and one six to ensure that they reach the 200-mark.

David Wiese smacked two sixes to make an unbeaten 12.

Roy showed KKR how it's done in the powerplay, blazing his way to a 22-ball fifty, his second in a row to hand KKR their best ever start this season.

The Englishman showed his intent against the likes of RCB new ball bowlers and Mohammed Siraj and David Willey and unleashed his fury when leftarm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed was introduced in the last over of the powerplay.

Roy smoked him for four sixes in five balls in a 25-run over as KKR cruised to their highest powerplay score this season with 66 for no loss.

But all credit to willy Lankan spinner Hasaranga for a tidy over after the powerplay where he conceded just two runs to mount pressure on the duo.

Vyshak and Harshal Patel too tightened the noose as boundaries suddenly dried up and it was all the more evident on the duo.

Struggling to get big hits, Jagadeesan was done in by a Vyshak bouncer, while Roy got a peach of a delivery from the uncapped Indian who got a perfect legstump yorker to clean up the Englishman round his stump.

Indore's Famous 'Jeerawan' Spice Now Banned In Flight Hand Baggage

The decision by aviation authorities to add 'jeerawan', a spice often sprinkled on poha, salads etc, to the list of items prohibited in hand baggage on flights evoked mixed responses from air passengers at Indore's Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport on Monday, with some terming it absurd.

Jeerawan, which contains red chillies and several other ingredients and is famous in Indore, has been prohibited in hand baggage as per safety norms laid down by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BSCA), a senior airport official told PTI.

A showcase kept at the airport to inform people about prohibited items contains a packet of jeerawan along with a pistol, knife, scissor, hammer and screwdriver.

Indore-based entrepreneur Sameer Sharma, a frequent air traveller, said, “I reached Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport two days ago to travel to Jammu and was shocked to see a packet of jeerawan in the showcase. This is absolutely absurd. Jeerawan cannot be kept in the category of hot spices like red chillies."

As per experts, jeerawan is made from cumin, coriander, fennel, clove, cinnamon, red chilli, asafoetida, turmeric, salt, dried mango etc. Apart from being a taste enhancer, it is also known to improve digestion and keep the body warm during winter.

Scientists Reveal The Reason Why Your Hair Turns Grey As You Age

Scientists have discovered the reason why human hair loses its colour and turns grey as we age, reported New York Post. According to a team of scientists, melanocyte stem cells become stuck inside the hair follicle and are unable to produce pigment.

The findings were published Wednesday in the peer-reviewed, scientific journal Nature. For the study, scientists spent two years tracking individual cells in the fur of mice in order to determine how hair turns grey and closely examined the melanocyte stem cells known to control hair colour. They used special scans and lab techniques to study the cell-ageing process.

They discovered that the pigment-producing part of a stem cell would change as the mice would mature. ''The melanocyte stem cell system fails earlier than other adult stem cell populations, which leads to hair greying in most humans and mice,'' the study says.

As hair ages, sheds and grows back, melanocyte stem cells get stuck in a part of the hair follicle called the hair follicle bulge. As the stem cells stop roaming around the follicle and become fixed, they fail to mature into fully-fledged melanocytes. The hair then turns grey, white or silver because no pigment is being produced.

Mayumi Ito, the author of the study and dermatology professor at New York University's Grossman School of Medicine, said, “This is a really big step forward in understanding why we grey.”

He explained, ''It is the loss of chameleon-like function in melanocyte stem cells that may be responsible for greying and loss of hair colour.''

The researchers also suggested that if their findings hold true for humans, they could open up a potential way to reverse or prevent grey hair.

The study's lead investigator, Qi Sun, said, ''The newfound mechanisms raise the possibility that the same fixed-positioning of melanocyte stem cells may exist in humans. If so, it presents a potential pathway for reversing or preventing the greying of human hair by helping jammed cells to move again between developing hair follicle compartments.”

"Grow Up": Nikki Haley Slams Critics Of "Gold" Dress At Daughter's Wedding

Republican presidential candidate in the US, Nikki Haley, is being slammed on social for wearing an off-white gown to her daughter's wedding ceremony. A debate started online after Ms Haley tweeted a photo of herself with her family. The photo included her husband Michael, son Nalin, daughter Rena and son-in-law Josh Jackson. While most users congratulated Ms Haley and her family, others were critical of the off-white dress by former South Carolina Governor and US ambassador to the UN when Donald Trump was President.

"We had the sweetest weekend celebrating Rena and Josh. Thankful for our sweet family and friends who joined us in supporting and celebrating them. Rena and Josh, we could not be more proud of both of you!" Ms Haley wrote on Twitter.

Some Twitter users immediately reacted with shock.

"Did the mother of the bride wear WHITE?" asked one Twitter user.

"Ummmm why the hell are you wearing an almost white dress that easily could have been a wedding dress??? That was very selfish of you to try to steal her spotlight but given how much you want all the attention on you, it doesn't surprise me..." said another.

"It's the brides day - don't make it about yourself," a third user commented.

Others, meanwhile, congratulated Ms Haley and her daughter.

"Best wishes to the beautiful couple! And best mother of the bride dress I've seen," one user commented on Ms Haley's Instagram post.

On Friday, Nikki Haley slammed a US media outlet for publishing an article focused on the dress she wore at her daughter's wedding. Taking to Twitter, Ms Haley shared an email from a Newsweek reporter asking her for comment on the colour of her dress and whether she and her daughter discussed their ensembles ahead of the wedding.

Slamming the journalist, Ms Haley wrote, "This is why people don't trust the media,” Haley said alongside the screenshot of the email. “Liberal ‘journalists' spend their time harassing conservatives about outfit choices. Grow up, @Newsweek. P.S. The dress was gold.”

Nikki Haley launched her presidential candidacy in February this year. The 51-year-old is competing with other Republicans who have announced their candidature - like Mr Trump, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Ms Haley rose to fame in American politics as the governor of South Carolina. She was elected first in 2011 and then re-elected in 2014.

Nikki Haley was born to Sikh parents Ajit and Raj Randhawa as Nimrata Nikki Randhawa. Her parents owned Exotica International Inc, a small foreign goods store that turned into a multimillion-dollar clothing and gift venture. She converted to Christianity in her twenties and is married to a commissioned officer Michael Haley and has two children.

Anand Mahindra: Elon Musk's "Most Important Contribution To Business" Is...

A day after SpaceX's next-generation Starship spacecraft exploded minutes after liftoff, industrialist Anand Mahindra praised SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for his willingness to take up great risks.

On Thursday, SpaceX's Starship rocket - the most powerful rocket ever built - successfully blasted off before exploding during its first test flight. Despite the failure to complete the full flight test, the company declared it a success. Mr Musk also hailed the launch and congratulated the team on "an exciting test launch of Starship". "We learned a lot for the next test launch in a few months," he tweeted.

A day after the launch, Mr Mahindra took to Twitter to praise the SpaceX CEO. "The most important contribution to business by Elon Musk will not be Tesla, or SpaceX but his powerful attitude to risk," the industrialist wrote.

5pcqaccg

"Most would be terminally daunted by such a 'failure.' But when you set up each initiative as a learning experiment (and of course, have raised the resources to do so) you essentially extend the frontiers of knowledge and progress. Salute!" Mr Mahindra added in his tweet.

Since being shared, Mr Mahindra's post has garnered various reactions from internet users. " Elon Musk's willingness to embrace failure as a learning experience has helped him to identify and overcome obstacles in his path. By approaching each initiative as a learning experiment, he has been able to develop new technologies and push the boundaries of what is possible." commented one user.

"I fully agree with you! The future belongs to the bold. They needed data about the launching and they got it. That's why @elonmusk called it a success," wrote another.

Notably, SpaceX blew up the uncrewed rocket for four minutes after it blasted off from Starbase. The plan was for Starship to soar into space at least 150 km above Earth before it would re-enter the atmosphere and plunge into the Pacific near Hawaii.

However, SpaceX said in a statement afterwards that the "vehicle experienced multiple engines out during its ascent, then "lost altitude and began to tumble," before the "flight termination system was commanded on both the booster and the ship".

The accident took place late in the evening, when the private bus coming from Ayodhya was negotiating a turn on the highway to move towards Ambedkarnagar, they said.

The bus collided with the truck coming from the opposite side, the officials said, adding the impact was so intense that the the truck got overturned and the bus got buried under it.

Ayodhya Chief Medical Officer Dr Ajay Raja said, "So far, seven persons have died and more than 40 persons are injured in the road accident." He added that rescue operations are still going on.

The district administration launched a rescue operation soon after the accident.

"More than a dozen ambulances have been deployed. We are evacuating those who are stuck in the crashed vehicle. The injured are being taken to the district hospital and medical college," District Magistrate Nitish Kumar told PTI.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident, his office said in a tweet in Hindi.

Karnataka Star Campaigner "Close Friend" Of Atiq Ahmed: BJP Slams Congress

The BJP on Thursday took exception to the inclusion of Rajya Sabha member Imran Pratapgarhi in the list of 40 star campaigners of the Congress for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, calling him an "anti-national".

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and BJP's Karnataka Election Management Committee Convener Shobha Karandlaje sought to know the "connection" between Congress and gangster-politician Atiq Ahmad who was recently shot dead in Uttar Pradesh.

She alleged that Pratapgarhi, a poet-cum-politician, is a close friend of Ahmad and used to call the gangster as his "guru" and brother. He used to write poetry in praise of Ahmed, who used to take part in his 'mushaira' (a gathering in which poets recite Urdu poetry), Karandlaje said.

Defending the party's move, Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh wondered why this question has emerged.

"Imran Pratapgarhi is the chairman of our party's minority cell and he will be coming. What is wrong with that? We are not calling the person who has committed a crime or is behind the bars," Vallabh told PTI.

BJP's Karandlaje asserted that a person who should have been arrested for standing in support of Atiq Ahmed has become the star campaigner for Congress.

"Despite knowing that Imran Pratapgarhi was involved in 'anti-national activities', you (Congress) send him to the Rajya Sabha and appoint him as Karnataka's star campaigner," she said, lashing out at the opposition party, which released its list of star campaigners on Wednesday.

BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi alleged that the Congress is "allowing the entry of destructive elements and fundamentalists".

"Imran Pratapgarhi used to write poetry praising Atiq. Atiq too attended Pratapgarhi's poetry concerts. Imran's poems laud anti-nationals, anti-socials and instigated Muslims against Hindus," Trivedi claimed.

The ruling BJP is fighting the Assembly polls against its principal rival Congress while the JD(S) is also an important player in the state.

Karnataka will vote in a single phase on May 10 and the results are scheduled to be out on May 13

Meta Lays Off Tech Teams as Employees Express Frustration With Job Cuts

Meta Platforms on Wednesday carried out another round of job cuts, this time hitting engineers and adjacent tech teams, as Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg further moved to streamline the business in a bid to make 2023 a "year of efficiency."

Meta in March became the first Big Tech company to announce a second round of mass layoffs, which it said would take place in three main batches over several months and impact 10,000 employees.

Wednesday's cuts, though expected, prompted expressions of frustration from Meta employees. Layoffs were the subject of the most popular questions posted on an internal company forum on Wednesday ahead of an upcoming employee town hall.

"You've shattered the morale and confidence in leadership of many high performers who work with intensity. Why should we stay at Meta?" read one question seen by Reuters.

The question references comments Zuckerberg made last year urging employees to work with more "intensity" to meet the Facebook and Instagram parent company's business challenges.

The company declined a Reuters request for comment.

Meta's first round of layoffs in the fall hit more than 11,000 employees, or 13 percent of its workforce at the time, and preceded other major tech companies shedding thousands of employees after a pandemic-led boom in digital advertising and cloud computing.

With the restructuring, Meta is also shelving lower-priority projects and "flattening" layers of middle management.

Investors have rewarded the company for downsizing.

Meta shares have surged about 80 percent this year, outperforming the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite's 16 percent rise in the period.

The company, which will announce its first-quarter results on April 26, is expected to benefit from a modest pickup in the digital advertising market and regulatory pressure on chief rival TikTok.

On Nysa Devgan's 20th Birthday, BFF Orhan Wishes Her Like This

Star kid Nysa Devgan rang in her 20th birthday with heartfelt posts from her parents and actors Ajay Devgn and Kajol. Joining the bandwagon was also Nysa's BFF Orhan Awatramani, who shared a collage featuring Nysa and himself on his Instagram story. In the collage, we can see the two having a gala time while posing cutely for selfies. Sharing the post, her friend Orhan wrote, "HBD NIE PIE." The post is too cute to be missed. Check it out here:

A few days back, the two friends took a trip to Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Orhan also shared some pictures with his Instafam, featutring his travel buddies Vedant Mahajan, Foram Thakke and of course Nysa. In the first pic, we can see Orhan and Nysa sitting on a camel. Next, we get a glimpse of their dinner time. The set-up looks dreamy, to say the least. Don't miss the pic in which Orhan is holding a book upside down. At least, Khushi Kapoor didn't. In the comments, she wrote, “I think you're holding the book upside down.” To this, Orhan replied, “gna fire my book stylist for this (sic).” Foram Thakker replied with a goofy face emoji.

In another post from the trip, Nysa can be seen posing for the camera with a group of friends. Ajay Devgn and Kajol's daughter looks pretty in a white thigh-high floral ensemble with a plunging neckline. She paired her look with pink footwear. Orhan, on the other hand, can be seen in a blue co-ord set. He also shared some breathtaking views of Suryagarh Palace.

Sharing the post, Orhan Awatramani captioned it as, "Putting my mind @ ease. Prttyyy plzzzz. @suryagarh #suryagarhjaisalmer." Soon after he shared the post, Nysa Devgan's cousin Daanish Gandhi commented, "Such a vibe," Kanika Kapoor dropped a heart emoticon.

A few days ago, Nysa Devgan attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre gala event, with her mom Kajol and made heads turn in her shimmery outfit. Recently, Kajol also opened up about the popularity that her daughter has earned. Speaking to Hindustan Times, the actress said, "I feel proud of her, of course. I love the fact that she conducts herself with dignity wherever she goes. All I can say is, she is 19 and is having fun. She has the right to do whatever she wants to do and I will always support her."

A Guide To Dating For Over 40s In The New Era Of Divorce, STDs And Tinder

When her 20-year marriage ended in 2018, Kathryn Dunn discovered that dating was not as she remembered it.

Technology and a shifting culture had upended the standards of etiquette she had been familiar with.

Once upon a time, the 57-year-old civil servant met potential partners through friends, at parties or while out on the town - a world where flirting was mostly done politely. By comparison, online dating felt like the Wild West.

Sites displayed hundreds, even thousands, of potential matches. But Dunn found it was rare for any of the matches she made this way to evolve into relationships: Out of the 1,500 men she's chatted with online, she'd been on a first date with only between 20 and 30, and a second with just five or six.

And while the number of men who didn't reply felt a little frustrating, there were some responses Dunn wished she'd never received. "You get guys who will also just send you naked pictures," she said. "Things have moved on a lot since I was last dating."

Dunn is hardly alone in waking up to a different world of romance post-separation. Once, dating was the almost exclusive preserve of younger people, but that's no longer the case. Divorce rates rose in the 20th Century, then dipped after a 1990s high, but have ticked up again since the pandemic. Figures for the UK last year show they spiked 23%, climbing at the fastest pace in over 50 years, according to PwC.

There's been another major change, too. The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act (2020) came into effect last year, permitting "no fault" separations.

Previously, it could only happen if one side accused the other of poor behaviour, such as cheating, or if the couple had spent years apart, even if both sides wanted out. Now, a divorce can be granted after a minimum wait of 20 weeks. Accusations aren't necessary.

Overall, 41% of marriages end in divorce by their 25th anniversary, according to the Office for National Statistics. That means many people have a second - or even third - chance to dip their toe into the dating scene.

Recent years have seen "changing patterns of sexual behaviour" in older age groups, the President of the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV told The Guardian last November. A stark statistic bears this out: The number of sexually transmitted infections among the over-65 set increased by 20% between 2017 and 2019, according to a report by the Local Government Association.

The research also found that the biggest proportional jump in cases of gonorrhoea and chlamydia are in people aged 65 and above. The cause isn't entirely clear, but some studies suggest using dating apps can lead to riskier sexual behavior.

To prepare for dating in 2023, some divorcees are spending hundreds or even thousands of pounds on coaches: People who help them get through the legal steps of a separation and then prepare for life beyond. Amy Dixon, a divorce and relationship coach, said she frequently helps clients who are "floundering" when trying to date online after divorce.

"People in their 40s grew up dating in a different way, we didn't grow up with mobile phones let alone the Internet and the expectations of fast dating," she said. (Although her own life shows it can work - after her marriage ended, she met her new partner on Tinder.)

Some are also finding that the passage of years has made dating trickier compared with the last time they were single. For instance, dates frequently having to be booked around co-parenting demands.

"When you're older you're unlikely to find someone who hasn't been married before and hasn't got children, so there's always that added layer of complexity," said Nawal Houghton, a divorce coach. "You ask 'Are you free that weekend?' but they say 'Oh no, I have my kids.'"

After divorce people may also want different things, with some needing time to get into a new relationship. In weekly, fortnightly or monthly meetings, Dixon tells her clients to think about their "grade of availability" and make that clear when they're chatting to people on apps - including those tailored to an older crowd like "Silver Singles" or "Ourtime." People should make clear if they are just out of a marriage and looking for a fling, or are they ready to commit again, she said.

Dixon said relationships after divorce can also take different forms, with many people wary of opening their lives to another person.

"I have a friend who has a Tuesday guy," said Dixon. "She's exceedingly busy as a single parent with a good career but she's a little on the lonely side, so she decided to look for someone for one to two nights a week. They have an arrangement that on a Tuesday he comes over, has a lovely meal and a sleepover, then see each other in a week."

Another group dating again are people who have been widowed. Chapter 2, a dating website and events company for people who have lost their partners, has had 2,000 sign-ups since launching in the UK in November. Four committed relationships have so far resulted. This spring, it's expanding to the US and Australia, and later on, to other English-speaking locales.

Specialist dating services can be hugely beneficial after being widowed, said Nicky Wake, the company's founder. "Despite the grieving, it doesn't mean they don't want to have fun or date," she said. "We had a night out in Birmingham a few weeks ago and it was a riot, we all had hangovers. Widows know to live for the moment."

After all the apps, a real-life event like that sounded appealing to Dunn, too. "I'm sort of at a point where I'm thinking I'm looking for some local groups where hopefully I could go and meet someone," she said.

All About The 'Benadryl Challenge' That Claimed The Life Of A US Teen

A 13-year-old boy from Ohio, US tragically died after overdosing on over-the-counter medication while attempting a viral TikTok trend, New York Post reported. The teenager died after ingesting 12 to 14 pills of Benadryl, an antihistamine as part of the 'Benadryl Challenge' on the social media platform TikTok.

What is the 'Benadryl Challenge'?

'Benadryl Challenge', encourages its users to take dangerous amounts of the over-the-counter-drug diphenhydramine, commonly found in products like Benadryl and other OTC medications. The challenge, which particularly targets teenagers, urges them to take 12-14 pills at a time to induce hallucinations. Participants then record the whole ordeal on TikTok to share their hallucinating experience online.

The stunt became popular around 2020 when teenagers uploaded their attempts on TikTok, a report by the New York Post said.

Notably, Benadryl contains diphenhydramine, an antihistamine that temporarily relieves symptoms caused by hay fever, upper respiratory allergies, or the common cold. According to the FDA, diphenhydramine is safe and effective when used as recommended, but higher doses can cause serious heart troubles, seizures, coma, or even death, as per CBS News.

The maximum allowed dose in a 24-hour period for children aged 6 to 12 is six tablets and 12 tablets for adults and children over 12. An overdose can cause symptoms like constipation, dry throat and mouth, dehydration, extreme drowsiness, nausea, tremor, blurry vision, rapid heart rate, seizures, and difficulty urinating.

A similar incident in 2020

In 2020, a 15-year-old Oklahoma girl lost her life after attempting the challenge. At the time, her aunt shared a social media post and wrote, ''This needs to stop taking our kids or putting them in the hospital.'' That was the first reported case of death from the social media stunt.

Following the incident,  manufacturer Johnson & Johnson issued a public advisory, alerting people about the dangers of the online challenge.

''We understand that consumers may have heard about an online “challenge” involving the misuse or abuse of diphenhydramine. The challenge, which involves the ingestion of excessive quantities of diphenhydramine, is a dangerous trend and should be stopped immediately. Benadryl products and other diphenhydramine products should only be used as directed by the label,'' a note on the page reads.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also published a public service announcement on misuse of the medicine.

''Taking higher than recommended doses of the common over-the-counter (OTC) allergy medicine diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can lead to serious heart problems, seizures, coma, or even death. We are aware of news reports of teenagers ending up in emergency rooms or dying after participating in the ‘Benadryl Challenge' encouraged in videos posted on the social media application TikTok,” the statement read.

''Consumers, parents, and caregivers should store diphenhydramine and all other OTC and prescription medicines up and away and out of children's reach and sight,'' the statement added,

"Complete Self-Sufficiency A Dead-End": Russian Minister To S Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, on the second day of the latter's visit, on Tuesday.

Mr Manturov, who is also the country's minister for Industry and Trade, arrived in the national capital on Monday.

This is the second meeting of EAM Jaishankar with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, during the course of his India visit.

On Monday, Mr Jaishankar and Mr Manturov met representatives of Russian and Indian businesses at the India-Russia Business Dialogue in New Delhi.

Addressing the Russia-India Business Dialogue, Mr Manturov said, "Together with Eurasian Economic Commission, we are looking forward to intensifying negotiations on Free Trade Agreement with India."

The visiting Russian minister also said Moscow is interested in a qualitative increase in trade.

"Additionally, we are working on signing of Russia-India Bilateral Agreement for the Promotion and Protection of Investments," Mr Manturaov said at the event, which was organised jointly by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Russia-India Business Council.

To protect the principles of free trade with its partners, Russia has undertaken a set of effective measures, including import preferences. Mechanisms that guarantee the protection of investments will be in demand among Russian and Indian businessmen, Mr Maturaov said.

Notably, INSTC was agreed upon in 2000 and ratified in 2002 by India, Iran, and Russia, and trial runs were conducted in 2016.

"Also, we believe that it is important to expand direct air connectivity - this is a necessary condition for regular exchange of business delegations, an increase of mutual tourist flow," he said.

Laying out the challenges faced by Russia, Mr Manturov said Covid-19 led to logistics disruptions. He pointed out that "one-sided illegitimate sanctions by Western states against Russia provoked systemic problems on the global markets".

"It led to the acceleration of inflation in many countries. Also, it created difficulties for international transport flows, cargo insurance, and the conduction of financial transactions," he said.

He also stated that despite the dramatic scenarios, Russia's GDP last year decreased by merely 2 per cent. Inflation did not exceed 12 per cent, and now this indicator stands at 3.2 per cent (year on year). Unemployment also is at the historic minimum of 3.7 per cent.

The Russian minister said "the margin of safety in his country's economy, and prompt measures" taken by his government provided for "quick adjustment to new realities".

The visiting minister stated Russia is not planning to "fence" themselves off from the rest of the world, stating that such a measure is unrealistic and not feasible economically to substitute everything in all sectors of industry.

"We do not have such a goal to achieve complete self-sufficiency -- it is a dead-end, leading eventually to the loss of competitiveness," he said.

EAM Jaishankar also addressed the India-Russia Business Dialogue in Delhi, saying, "We have crossed the bilateral trade target of USD 30 billion before the year 2025 which was the target year given to us by our leaderships. And in fact for the period April 2022 - February 2023, I understand that the trade is actually about USD 45 billion and the expectation is that this will continue to grow."

Mr Jaishankar added that India and Russia need to motivate businesses on both sides. He said they are determined to make India a "global manufacturing hub."

Last month too, EAM S Jaishankar and Mr Manturov co-chaired the virtual meeting of IRIGC-TEC.

Elon Musk Says Twitter Purchase Was A Poor Financial Decision

Billionaire Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition has not seen smooth sailing. Now, in an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson that aired Monday night, Musk called his Twitter purchase a poor financial decision for now but maintained that "some things are priceless".

When asked if Twitter was worth the buy, Musk said, "It remains to be seen as to whether this was financially smart." Musk acknowledged his recent $20 billion valuation of the site, he said, "Currently, it is not. We just revalued the company at less than half of the acquisition price."

He added, "My timing was terrible for when the offer was made because it was right before advertising plummeted."

Talking about his purchase, he said, "Yeah, so I must be a real genius here. My timing is amazing since I bought it for at least twice as much as it should have been bought for. But some things are priceless." Musk added, "So whether I'm losing money or not, that is a secondary issue compared to ensuring the strength of democracy. And free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy."

In a recent interview with BBC, the Tesla CEO said that he would sell the company if he finds the right person.

The speculation around Mr Musk's intention to sell the microblogging platform started gaining prominence after documents filed by the company in a California court against a lawsuit showed Twitter Inc. has ceased to be an independent company after merging with a newly-formed firm called X Corp.

The document said that Twitter "no longer exists".

Most recently, Mr Musk covered the "W" in the microblogging platform's name outside the company's headquarters in San Francisco, sending many in shock. Before that, the billionaire briefly replaced the iconic blue bird logo with doge meme on the Web version of Twitter.
