Watch: Tourist Almost Gored After Trying To Touch Bison At US Park

Videos showing some tourists trying to pat and take selfies with bison at a national park in the US have gone viral and led to huge discussion on social media. During the startling encounters, the tourists came too close to the animals and were almost gored by them at the Yellowstone National Park. Users on Instagram and other social media platforms have called the tourists "reckless" and the acts "insane". Thy have also demanded that tourists like these should be arrested.

In one video that was posted on the Instagram handle of TouronsOfYellowstone on May 22, an unidentified woman is seen extending her arm to touch a bison that is eating grass while a friend takes photos.

In a split second, the bison lunges forward, as if it's charging towards the tourist. The woman quickly retreats in a panic, stumbling over herself in the process. The frightened screams of the group can be heard in the background.

Another video posted on Sunday shows a woman taking a selfie, just inches away from a massive bison which is trying to rest on the ground.

"Sighted at Biscuit Basin. She was trying to pet it. It was insane. Like inches. Her arrogance was so infuriating. People were telling her to move away and she kept posing for like 10 minutes," reads the Instagram post.

The woman was fortunate that the bison did not react and she walked away unscathed.

The act, however, left social media user enraged.

"People should be arrested for this, ignorance like this is why people continue to get hurt," one Instagram user commented.

"She's lucky they didn't have a calf with them," wrote another.

Yellowstone is home to a substantial bison population, with the count reaching 5,900 in 2022.

National Park Service (NPS), a US government agency, has posted advisory on its website warning tourists to stay away from these animals saying they are "wild and unpredictable".

He Killed Delhi Teen For Rejecting Him In Front Of Her Friends: Cops

Accused Sahil planned for two days the horrific killing of the 16-year-old girl carried out on Sunday evening in the Shahbad Dairy area here after she had rebuffed him in front of her friends and refused to continue their relationship, police claimed on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old accused was sent to two-day police custody by a court. Police officials investigating the case claimed the killing was pre-planned and Sahil was waiting for the victim in a bylane to attack her on May 28.

On Tuesday, new CCTV footage surfaced on social media in which Sahil could be purportedly seen talking to a person just minutes before committing the brutal crime.

During interrogation, Sahil confessed to the murder and told investigators that the victim and her friends had threatened to beat him up if he continued to pressure her to patch up with him, the police claimed.

The victim was stabbed over 20 times and bludgeoned to death on Sunday evening allegedly by Sahil in a busy bylane of the Shahbad Dairy area of northwest Delhi as passers-by looked on in fear and disbelief.

Police said that Sahil had bought the knife used in the crime from Haridwar around 15 days ago. After the murder, he threw it in bushes in Rithala while fleeing to his aunt's residence in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

The Delhi Police sought the custody of Sahil, stating that he frequently changed his statements and the weapon used for committing the offence was yet to be recovered, sources said.

According to the police, the victim was found to have 34 wounds on her body and her skull was ruptured.

The aunt of Sahil, who lives in Bulandshahr, demanded suitable punishment for the crime committed by him.

"Sahil should be punished for what he has done. He did this to that girl today, tomorrow he can do the same to us," Shammo, his aunt, told reporters.

"He should be punished for what he (Sahil) has done. We are saying this with folded hands, whatever the punishment may be, beat him or hang him or whatever you do, he should be punished. We have nothing to do with him," she said.

According to the police, Sahil and the teenager were in relationship since June 2021 but had frequent quarrels, and things took a turn for the worse in the last eight days after she told him that she wanted to break up with him.

A senior police official said that during interrogation, Sahil claimed that the girl had started meeting her ex-boyfriend with whom she was in a relationship for three to four years, but they continued their "friendship" even after their break up.

Sahil told police that the teen again developed closeness with her ex-boyfriend as he was doing better financially, this was also one of the reasons which led to their strained relationship.

She was not happy with Sahil and wanted to end their relationship, the police said, adding that the ex-boyfriend who is currently in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh has been called to join the investigation.

"When the teen along with two friends Bhawna and Jhabru were in her locality two days ago, Sahil came there and asked her to continue their relationship.

"The girl asked him to stay away from her as she did not want to continue her relationship with him. Her friend Jhabru warned him to stay away from her," the officer said.

The police said that Sahil decided to eliminate the teen as she insulted him in front of her friends, adding that her friend Neetu also used her husband's name to threaten Sahil, saying that he is a criminal and he would teach Sahil a lesson once he comes out of jail.

According to another official, on the day of the incident, Sahil had consumed alcohol in the afternoon.

The teen, who was returning after changing her dress in a public toilet in order to attend the birthday party of her friend's child, was attacked by the accused with a knife multiple times and later hit by a stone slab.

"After killing her, Sahil went to a nearby park and stayed there for a while. Later, he went to Rithala metro station where, as per his claims, he threw the weapon in the bushes.

"He reached Anand Vihar bus terminal and took a bus for Bulandshahr in UP. A call at his home led police to nab him from Uttar Pradesh," the official said.

Police said the mobile phone of the accused will be checked. His social media accounts will be analysed to verify whether he was in touch with other girls or not.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has sought a report from the Delhi government and the city police over the brutal killing.

Leaders from the BJP, AAP, and the Congress on Tuesday met the family members of the teen.

While AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi conveyed condolences to the bereaved family, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim's family.

Atishi slammed Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena and alleged that "such incidents can be averted if LG takes responsibility." "Daughters of Delhi are facing violence every day. Such incidents can be averted only if the LG takes responsibility," she said.

BJP MP Hans Raj Hans who met the girl's family members Tuesday morning said no amount of money can bring their daughter back.

Delhi Congress President Anil Chaudhary, who also visited the family members of the victim, said "blame game begins" between Kejriwal and LG every time the "government is held accountable."

Man Calls Ghee Podi Idli 'Death By Calories'. Foodies On Twitter Agree

Idli is one of the most popular breakfast delicacies in India, especially in the Southern region. Super light and extremely versatile, idli is rich in fibre and protein and also keeps you full for a longer period of time. Speaking of our love for idlis, how could we miss mentioning Bengaluru's ghee podi idli? Podi is a mixture of ground dry spices, which is commonly referred to as gunpowder or chutney powder. When idlis are topped with this podi or gunpowder along with ghee, it definitely makes for a drool-worthy indulgence.
A Twitter user, identified as Ankit.Today, recently shared his dislike for this delicious meal. And, surprisingly many people agreed with him. Sharing an “unpopular opinion,” he wrote, “I cannot stand the drowning in ghee and podi idlis served in a lot of popular joints in Bangalore”. Further, the user stated two reasons why he dislikes ghee podi idli. Ankit said “death by calories” and “ghee overdose” turns him off.
“Give me fresh, hot, soft idlis and a good chutney and I'm super happy,” he added.

Many users totally agreed with the tweet and expressed their dislike for the popular ghee podi idli. One of them said, “Same, I'm so over rameshwaram, never going there again.”

“Agreed totally. That typical Rameswaram Cafe style is not Bengaluru at all. Feels like eating sand. I feel sorry when I see people lining up to eat that abomination,” another wrote.

A user tweeted, “Someone had to say it."

One of the Twitter users opined that “podi idli can be had occasionally,” but “ idli with chutney and sambar in separate bowls” is a daily fix. “Or a bowl of mini idlis dunked in piping hot vengayam sambar.”

Sai Sudharshan Enters History Books, Breaks 9-Year-Old Record In IPL Final

Gujarat Titans' 21-year-old Sai Sudharsan played the scintillating innings to notch up the highest score by an uncapped player in the history of the Indian Premier League final. Sudharsan achieved this feat during the IPL 2023 final match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday where he played a sensational innings of 96 off just 47 balls. Sudharsan also became the second-youngest batter to score a half-century in the IPL final. At the age of 21 years and 226 days, He broke the record of Manan Vohra, who scored a fifty in the IPL 2014 final, at the age of 20 years and 318 days. GT acquired Sudharsan for Rs. 20 lakh in the IPL 2022 auction.

Coming to the match, Sai Sudharsan's sensational knock of 96 and Wriddhiman Saha's fine fifty propelled Gujarat Titans (GT) to 214/4 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 here at Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday.

Sudharsan scored the highest for Gujarat with a sensational 96 off 47 deliveries while Saha played a fine knock of 54 off 39 balls. For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana bagged two while Deepak Chahar and Ravindra Jadeja scalped one wicket each.

After being put to bat first, Gujarat Titans got off to the finest start with their openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha slamming CSK bowlers all around the ground.

The Gujarat openers rotated the strike brilliantly, not allowing the CSK bowlers to settle down while whacking the loose balls on offer.

CSK's experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja provided his team with a big breakthrough as he dismissed star batter Gill for 39 off 20 balls in the seventh over of the game. However, Saha displayed great resilience and determination as he slammed CSK bowlers at regular intervals.

The left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan then came out to bat. The pair of Saha and Sudharsan took their team's target beyond the 100-run mark, stitching up a fine partnership.

Saha continued his blistering form as he brought up his half-century in 36 balls. Saha's innings at the crease was cut short as he was sent packing by Deepak Chahar after scoring 54 runs. GT captain and right-handed batter Hardik Pandya came out to bat.

Sudharsan opened his hands and slammed Maheesh Theekshana for two big sixes in the 15th over of the game. The fantastic youngster Sudharsan slammed a sensational half-century in 33 balls and kept the scoreboard ticking for Gujarat.

Sudharsan kept the momentum going for Gujarat Titans as he slammed boundaries at regular intervals. Sudharsan single-handedly hammered Tushar Deshpande for 20 runs with the help of three boundaries and one maximum in the 17th over.

Pandya and Sudharsan stitched up fifty run partnership stand in just 23 balls. Pandya and Sudharsan hammered Deshpande for 18 runs and guided their team beyond the 200-run mark.

CSK bowlers did not had any answer to Sudharsan's on slaughter as the batter kept hammering every bower all around the ground.

In the last over, Sudharsan slammed two back-to-back sixes, however, he lost his wicket to Matheesha Pathirana. Sudharsan fell short of 4 runs off making his maiden IPL century. Rashid Khan then came out to bat.

Pathirana then delivered superb balls and took the wicket of Rashid Khan on the last ball of the final over to restrict GT to 214/4 in 20 overs.

'Bowling Coach Jimmy Anderson' In Indian Camp? Fan Sets Twitter On Fire

Team India have begun its preparations for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, starting June 7 at the Oval in London. Some members of the Indian team have already reached the venue, ahead of the summitt clash, after their respective teams failed to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs. The likes of Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, among others arrived in London earlier this week and were accompanied by Team India's support staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid.

Earlier this week, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced a multi-year deal with German sportswear giant Adidas as Team India's kit sponsor.

Taking to Twitter, BCCI also unveiled India's new training kits, which were donned by some players and the support staff.

In one of the pictures, a fan spotted England pacer Jimmy Anderson's look-alike. Anderson's look-alike was none other than India's strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai.

"Great decision from BCCI to appoint Jimmy Anderson as the bowling coach," the fan tweeted.

Here's how Twitter reacted to the post:

The Indian team will assemble in London after the IPL 2023 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The upcoming World Test Championship final is expected to see the Indian team wear the new Adidas Kits. India will be hosting the ICC ODI World Cup this year from October-November. The team is scheduled to play a number of ODIs before where the new blue-coloured kits will be seen.

Henry Kissinger, US' Controversial Ex Secretary Of State, Turns 100

Henry Kissinger, whose very name is synonymous with US diplomacy, turns 100 Saturday feted by the American elite as others seethe that the ruthless Cold Warrior has never faced accountability.

From opening the door to communist China to plotting an endgame to the Vietnam War to unapologetically backing dictators who were anti-Soviet, Kissinger wielded influence like few before or after him, serving as both top diplomat and security advisor to presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Instantly recognizable for his bookishly thick glasses and a sharp-witted monotone that never lost a touch of his native German, Kissinger was first an academic and his intellectual gifts are acknowledged begrudgingly even by some of his harshest critics.

Since leaving office in 1977, Kissinger's brand of realpolitik -- the coldly cynical championing of power and national interests -- has largely fallen out of favor as his successors preached moralism, but Kissinger himself has if anything enjoyed greater repute.

Ahead of his centennial, Kissinger blew candles on a cake at a celebratory luncheon at the Economic Club of New York, the city where he grew up after his Jewish family fled Nazi Germany.

Showing his worldview has not changed at the century mark, Kissinger cautioned for the United States to stay within the bounds of "vital interests," telling the guests, "We need to be always strong enough to resist any pressures."

Bucking the view of most US policymakers, Kissinger called for diplomacy with Russia on a ceasefire in Ukraine, arguing that Moscow has already suffered a strategic defeat.

'He has gotten away with it'

An unlikely playboy in 1970s Washington, Kissinger lives in an apartment on New York's Park Avenue. He has grown wealthy consulting businesses through his relationships in China -- and has warned the United States against treating Beijing as a new Cold War-style adversary.

Long despised by the left, Kissinger has come into the good graces of the mainstream of the Democratic Party.

Hillary Clinton after serving as secretary of state called Kissinger "a friend" and said she "relied on his counsel," while the incumbent, Antony Blinken, teased Kissinger about his stylishness when the elder statesman attended a State Department luncheon last year.

But for many, Kissinger was seen as an unindicted war criminal for his role in, among other events, expanding the Vietnam War to Cambodia and Laos, supporting military coups in Chile and Argentina, green-lighting Indonesia's bloody invasion of East Timor in 1975 and turning a blind eye to Pakistan's mass atrocities during Bangladesh's 1971 war of independence.

"To me, there's no doubt that his policies have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and have destroyed democracy in many countries," said Reed Kalman Brody, a veteran human rights lawyer whose cases have included working with victims of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.

"I'm bewildered that he has gotten away with it," he said.

Kissinger has never faced serious legal jeopardy, with a US judge in 2004 throwing out a lawsuit related to the assassination of Chile's army chief and the United States boycotting the International Criminal Court.

But Brody said there would be a strong legal case on East Timor where Kissinger not only approved the invasion but ensured US weapons kept flowing to Indonesia's military.

Brody also pointed to a recording, released over Kissinger's objections, in which Kissinger tells Nixon that the air force had orders in Cambodia to hit "anything that moves." Indiscriminate bombing of civilians is a war crime.

Late writer Christopher Hitchens published a book calling for Kissinger to be tried on grounds including tacitly backing Turkey's 1974 invasion of Cyprus.

Belief In Larger Goals

For Kissinger, most important was always the larger goal. On Cyprus, he prioritized solid relations with Turkey. On Bangladesh, Kissinger wanted to preserve Pakistan as a secret channel between the United States and China.

Muntassir Mamoon, a prominent history professor at the University of Dhaka, said that Kissinger "actively supported genocide in Bangladesh."

"I don't find any reason to praise Kissinger," he said, adding that the view was shared in many other countries including Vietnam.

Kissinger was controversially co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating a ceasefire in Vietnam alongside Hanoi's Le Duc Tho, who refused to accept the award.

"The irony is that he gets remembered for making peace, but all the ways he contributed to an escalation of the war not only in Vietnam but in Cambodia and Laos get lost," said Carolyn Eisenberg, a historian at Hofstra University who wrote a book on Kissinger.

Eisenberg also played down Kissinger's public image as "some Machiavelian genius," saying that transcripts showed how China's premier Zhou Enlai played him through flattery.

"Zhou Enlai knows that this guy has a huge ego problem," she said.

Brody, despite his criticism of Kissinger, acknowledged that he had a "degree of gravitas and sophistication" that both overshadowed most US policymakers and endeared many to him.

"Perhaps the reward of being on the side of the powerful is that you're only resented and hated by the weak."

Virender Sehwag Picks Top-5 Batters In IPL 2023. Kohli, Gill Not In List

Only one match remains in the Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) 2023. Over the last two months, the 10 franchises competed intensely with some doing it better than the other. The tournament also saw several great batting performances. This was the first time that two uncapped batters - Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prabhsimran Singh - scored centuries in one edition of the league. Also, India stars Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill his two ceneturies each. After such a great show, ahead of Gujarat Titans' Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians, Virender Sehwag picked the 'top-five batters' according to him.

"Mere 5 Pandavas. Cricket's Pandav. My pick for five batters in the IPL. I have not picked many openers because they get a lot of opportunities. The first batter who comes to my mind in Rinku Singh. I don't think you would ask me the reason. Because it has never happened that a batter has won the team a match by hitting five straight sixes. Only Rinku Singh has done it. The second middle-order batter is Shivam Dube. He has hit 33 sixes, his strike-rate is over 160. Last few seasons have not been special but this year he came with a clear-cut mindset that he has to come and hit sixes," Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz

"The third is a brilliant opener. I have to take his name because his brilliant batting has forced me to pick him up. Yashasvi Jaiswal. Then comes SKY. I am taking Suryakumar Yadav's name because he was not in form. In international cricket he was getting zeroes. In IPL also he was not doing well at the start, but then he started doing well.  Last, I can pick anybody by doing a toss because there are so many. But I will pick another middle-order batter and his name is Heinrich Klaasen. The team he was playing for (SRH), he was batting for them in the middle order, he made the most number runs. His ability to hit against spin and pace is rarely seen in a foreign player."

Interestingly, Sehwag's list has two uncapped players too.

Indian Jailed For Cheating Singapore Construction Company Of 5.1 Million

An Indian national has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for allegedly making illegal payments of over SGD 5.1 million from a construction company where he worked to firms linked to him.

Hussain Naina Mohamed (47) on Thursday pleaded guilty to nine counts of cheating involving more than SGD 2.5 million and one count of moving a portion of his ill-gotten gains out of Singapore.

Sixteen other charges, including those involving the remaining amount, were considered during sentencing, The Straits Times reported.

He later told investigators that he had sent the money to India to help cover his parents' household expenses.

Mohamed admitted that he had set up the firm solely to earn some cash from Utracon Corp. He was also the only one making all business decisions for Aret while his sister was the “face” of the firm, said the prosecution.

This was because he knew that he could not be seen by Utracon to be involved in Al Rahman Enterprises & Trading (Aret) in which he was a partner.

The illegal payments took place between 2009 and 2019, causing at least SGD 5,00,000 in losses to Utracon, according to the Singapore daily report.

Mohamed worked for the construction firm Utracon Structural Systems, which is part of the Utracon Corporation, until January 2019.

As an assistant shipping manager, his responsibilities included making vendor recommendations to his superiors. He also helped Utracon Overseas, which is also part of the Utracon Corporation, with similar tasks.

Among other things, Mohamed failed to inform his employer that he was a partner at Aret. Instead, he recommended Aret to be his employer's vendor for marine insurance as well as freight-forwarding services.

Mohamed also recommended to his superiors his father's firm, SM Enterprises (SME), as a vendor to supply plastic components.

The prosecution said Utracon would not have awarded jobs to these firms had it known about the blatant conflict of interest with regard to Mohamed.

As the companies linked to Mohamed did provide services to Utracon as its vendors, Utracon's financial loss amounted to at least SGD 5,00,000 as a result of the cheating. This loss included the illicit profit Hussain made from the offences.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Tay Jingxi said the accused and his sister were partners at Aret, which was registered in June 2009 and provided marine insurance as well as freight-forwarding services.

As a result of his dishonest concealment, Utracon was induced to award jobs to Aret and paid it more than SGD 7,05,000.

In May 2011, Hussain approached Utracon's director of Singapore operations and offered to source for an alternative supplier of plastic components that would purportedly offer better rates than its supplier at that time.

He then liaised with an Indian company called Vijay Industries to fabricate the plastic parts that Utracon required, and arranged for his father's firm, the India-registered Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), to export these plastic parts to Utracon.

Mohamed did not tell the director that the SME belonged to his father and that the plastic components were actually manufactured by Vijay Industries, with SME only marking up the prices.

As a result of his dishonest concealment of facts, Utracon was induced to award jobs to SME and paid it more than SGD 1.4 million.

Mohamed also worked with a director of a firm called Indus Global Line (IGL) to cheat Utracon.

In 2011, the pair entered into an illicit agreement for IGL to submit inflated quotations to Utracon for freight-forwarding services, with Mohamed determining the quantum of each mark-up, the media report said.

Mohamed then validated all the inflated quotations before submitting them for Utracon's approval. As a result, Utracon paid IGL nearly SGD 3,75,000.

On six occasions between May 2014 and November 2017, Mohamed removed from Singapore nearly SGD 1,42,000 of his ill-gotten gains by methods that included engaging the services of local remittance agents.

Heavy Rain, Dust Storm And Strong Winds In Delhi, No Heat Wave Till Tuesday

Rain along with strong winds and dust storms hit parts of Delhi on Thursday, days after the weather office declared a heat wave in the capital.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today that similar conditions are expected to prevail in the capital over the next two to three days and no heat wave is predicted until May 30.

Several took to Twitter to share videos appreciating the rain after temperatures as high as 46 degrees Celsius had been recorded in the capital.

Visuals of the dust storm have also been widely shared. Twitter user IndiaMetSky Weather shared a timelapse of the dust storm approaching the city. "An amazing view of the oncoming Dust Storm from East Delhi Border from our base," they wrote.

Under the influence of a western disturbance active over the western Himalayan region, intermittent rains are predicted over northwest India, including the national capital and its surrounding areas, over the next two to three days, according to the IMD.

A heatwave scorched parts of Delhi on Monday and Tuesday, with many weather stations recording maximum temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius.

Gill's Comment On Kohli's Emotional Post After RCB's Exit Is Pure Gold

Royal Challengers Bangalore stalwart Virat Kohli penned a heartfelt post after the end of the team's IPL 2023 campaign and the comment on it from Shubman Gill was gold. After losing to Gujarat Titans in a must-win game on Sunday, RCB got eliminated from the playoff race of IPL 2023. A win would have taken RCB to the playoffs, but a loss to them helped Mumbai Indians join Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in the top-4 in points table at the end of league stage.

"A season which had it's moments but unfortunately we fell short of the goal. Disappointed but we must hold our heads high. To our loyal supporters, grateful for backing us every step of the way. A big thank you to the coaches, management and my teammates. We aim to be back stronger," wrote Kohli on Instagram

On this, Gill commented with a crown emoji, certainly describing Kohli as a king.

See it here:

Gill reaffirmed his status as Kohli's heir apparent with a magnificent hundred as GT knocked RCB out of IPL with a six-wicket win, allowing Rohit Sharma's MI to sneak through as the fourth team in the play-offs in Bengaluru on Sunday.

After Kohli scored a 61-ball 101 in RCB's 197 for five, it looked like the best effort on the day but Gill, who will be the torchbearer of Indian batting for the next 10 years, showed that he is better than the best. What Kohli did well, Gill did that better as his unbeaten 104 off 52 balls saw Titans chase down the target with elan. Like former India captain Kohli, this was Gill's second successive hundred.
