'Will You Return To Space On Boeing Starliner?' What NASA Astronauts Said
NASA Crew-9 astronauts Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore and Nick Hague spoke to the press today about the future of NASA's human space flight programme, after their recent return from the International Space Station (ISS).
Mr Wilmore said they will carefully study and rectify all the issues they have faced before going to space in another Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
To a reporter's question to Mr Wilmore on whom he would place the blame for the mission that did not go as planned, he said, "There were some issues that happened with Starliner. There were some issues which of course prevented us from returning... If I were to start pointing fingers, I'd blame myself. I will start with myself."
"Blame, I don't like this term... We are all responsible, NASA and Boeing too. Trust is very important. We are not going to look back and say 'this person or that entity is to be blamed'. We are going to look forward and say 'how do we use the lessons we learned from this whole process and make sure we are successful in future," Mr Wilmore said.
On whether they would go on the Starliner again, he said, "Yes, because we are going to rectify, fix, make it work. Boeing is completely committed. NASA is completely committed."
Ms Williams agreed, pointing at the strengths of the Starliner, which is a complex spacecraft.
"The spacecraft [Starliner] is very capable, but there are things that need to be fixed as Butch mentioned. Folks are actively working on that. It's a great spacecraft with many features that other spacecraft don't have. It's an honour to be a part of this," Ms Williams said.
The NASA Crew-9 astronauts along with Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov splashed down on Earth on Elon Musk's SpaceX's Dragon capsule on March 18.
The White House had highlighted President Donald Trump's role in prioritising their rescue. President Trump alleged his predecessor Joe Biden abandoned the astronauts in space. On March 7, he announced he gave permission to Mr Musk to bring back the two American astronauts.
Ms Wlliams and Mr Wilmore stayed on for nine months in the ISS after their Boeing Starliner spacecraft malfunctioned, turning a mission that was supposed to be short into a long one.

Replit CEO Explains Why Learning To Code Is Pointless In AI Era. See Post
Amjad Masad, CEO of Replit - a company that allows users to build apps and websites using AI, has said that learning to code is pointless because artificial intelligence (AI) will soon take over coding professions. Taking to X, Mr Masad reshared a video of him explaining his statement. In the clip, he agreed with Dario Amodei of Anthropic, who had predicted that almost all of the codes in the coming future will be AI-generated.
"In the upcase, like what Dario just said recently, all code will be AI-generated. I assume that on this optimisation path we're on, where agents are gonna get better and better and better, the answer would be different. The answer would be no. It would be a waste of time to learn how to code. But you could have different predictions, and I think different people will make different assumptions," he said.
I no longer think you should learn to code. https://t.co/UNkOEmotwQ
— Amjad Masad (@amasad) March 27, 2025
Further, the Replit CEO emphasised that people will need to continue to work on their basics, even if coding becomes outdated. "I would say kind of learn a bit of coding. I would say learn how to think, learn how to break down problems, right? Learn how to communicate clearly, as you would with humans, but also with machines," Mr Masad explained.
In a follow-up post, the CEO also reflected on how he spent years popularising coding through open-source work, Codecademy, and Replit, only to now believe that AI is making traditional coding skills redundant. "I understand all the cope. It was hard to arrive at this conclusion. There are obvious domain exceptions, but the trend is hard to miss," he added.
Mr Masad's post triggered mixed reactions on social media. While agreed with his stance, others said that learning the basics should be the first step before delving deeper into the computer system.
"Strongly agree with this.. this doesn't mean engineering is obsolete. The engineering approach to solving problems is now even more crucial to make best use of AI tools. the paradigm of what the focus of engineering just changes from syntax and semantics to problem solving," one user wrote.
"I do think that understanding how software is structured and all of the pieces involved (api's, auth, etc) is important because I find myself having a lot of blindspots when trying to improve/debug stuff that I build," expressed another.

"I still thinking knowing how to code is going to make you better at using AI tools, and especially when you run into things AI doesn't fix or can't figure out. But I do see a future in 10 - 12 years where maybe we barely look at code anymore, similar to how most people that code barely think about memory management," commented a third user.
"at least for me, learning to code is what's allowing me to learn what you suggest. i know it's for soundbites, but i think the real lesson is, don't get caught up in syntax," said one user.
Notably, Mr Masad's statement comes after Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that 25 per cent of the new code at the tech giant is AI-generated, though it is later reviewed by engineers. ChatGPT maker OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also recently stated that AI has already taken over half of the coding work in many companies.

Woman Laid Off For Refusing To Work Overtime, Viral Post Sparks Discussion
In recent months, Reddit has become a popular platform for employees to share their job struggles and workplace concerns. Several subreddits have emerged where employees anonymously share their stories and also connect with others who face similar challenges. Now, an employee recently took to the platform to share about their co-worker who was unexpectedly asked to resign after 3.5 years of service. In their post, the user Unlikely_Sorbet_5137 said that although the company cited "budget issues", many employees believe the real reason was her refusal to work overtime. Detailing the unexpected departure of their teammate, the user questioned the real reason behind the layoff.
In the post, titled 'Teammate was laid off today after refusing to work overtime', the user shared, "I work for an MNC, a well-known company in the product-based sector. The culture here is great and flexible, and most employees have been here for the long haul-some for as long as 26-27 years."
"However, something that happened today changed my perception of the company. A teammate of mine, who has been with the company for 3.5 years, was asked to resign due to budget issues, and her role is being eliminated. I saw her leaving the office in tears," they added.
Teammate was laid off today after refusing to work overtime.
byu/Unlikely_Sorbet_5137 indevelopersIndia
Adding to the scepticism surrounding the company's explanation of budget issues, the original poster (OP) pointed out the isolated nature of the layoff. "What I found strange is that if budget cuts were really the issue, there should have been more layoffs, not just one person," they wrote.
They also said that the teammate was upfront and at times used to refuse to overwork - something other employees accepted without saying a word. "She isn't the corporate flattery either-she spoke her mind, not like the ones saying, "yes, sir" or butter up management types. Could that have been the reason for her departure? I'm not sure, but it's left me feeling uneasy. What if this happens to me next?" the user asked.

Since being shared, the post has accumulated more than 1,400 upvotes. It has reignited the discussion online about work-life balance.
"Don't trust a picture just by one perspective. Anyone who is laid off always has a story where the company/boss was the villain and they were not. Secondly, they are all colleagues, and if you are scared, so are your bosses and management. Do your due diligence, make yourself important to the company, and though you still might be laid off, at least your chances will be lesser," wrote one user.
"A sustained refusal to do overtime would definitely have played a key role in the decision to fire the employee. This is India, not Europe or America. When the boss asks you to work overtime, you sometimes accept and sometimes negotiate. But you cannot always refuse," commented another.
"There is always a diplomatic way to handle things in corporate. If things are too much political be prepared to be part of it. End of the it's just survival," expressed a third user.
"You think you can fight the company. They have many people like you waiting to join the company, so it's easy for them to replace you. Keep it this way, you can always choose not to work overtime, but there's always someone who is ready to do it, and guess who will lose the job," commented another.

US Woman Loses 45 Kg After Leaving Husband And Job, Here's How
A 38-year-old woman in the US recently revealed how turning to roller skating after bidding farewell to her former life helped her shed 45 Kg. According to Daily Mail, in 2020, Connie Stowers from Rhode Island appeared to be living a perfect life. She had a high-paying job, a family, including a husband and a young daughter, and a lovely home. However, internally, she felt "trapped" in her marriage and "uninspired" by work. The result? she turned to alcohol and food for happiness, which eventually led to her weight ballooning to nearly 300 pounds (136 kg).
It was in 2021 that Ms Stowers decided to leave her husband, quit her six-figure job, and follow her dream of launching her own business, as per Daily Mail. She also decided that she needed to lose weight, for which she turned to roller-skating.
"Four years ago, my life looked fine from the outside. I had a high-paying job, a marriage, a beautiful daughter, a home - everything I was supposed to want. But I felt trapped. I was in a situation that was breaking me down instead of building me up. I was pouring myself into a job that (had) a great income but felt like a dead end and just not an inspiring fit for me," she told the outlet.
The 38-year-old said that the situation worsened during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. She said that she started "using food and wine for comfort," and her weight began to "spiral," with her gaining almost 100 pounds in a year. "I wasn't thriving. I wasn't even surviving. I was stuck. And when I finally admitted that to myself, everything started to change," she explained.
"I decided that I wasn't just going to exist anymore. I was going to transcend everything that had kept me where I was... unhappy, unmotivated and stuck," Ms Stowers said.
First, she decided to leave her husband. "It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I had to choose myself. And once I did, my entire life changed," she remarked. She then quit her high-paying job and started her own real estate business. After that, Ms Stowers explained that she decided to try various hobbies, which is when she discovered roller-skating, and everything changed.

Skating for the first time, she felt a sense of freedom. "It was the beginning of a new life for me," she said. "Skating saved me. It was the first thing that made me feel like myself again. It challenged me. It built (up my) confidence," she told the outlet.
Since she started skating, Ms Stowers said she has almost lost 100 pounds (about 45 kg). "At my heaviest, I was 297 pounds. I've lost close to 100 pounds - but more than that, I gained strength, confidence, and an entirely new life," she said.
Now, Ms Stowers runs a successful real estate business and roller skates all around the world. Her true aim is to inspire others. "I want to tell people that change can happen at any age. You don't need to be stuck," she said.

10,000 Indians Jailed Abroad Freed In A Decade - How Diplomacy Played A Part
Going to jail is a nightmarish thought for most people, but being imprisoned in another country can be a hellish experience. Like nationals of many other countries, thousands of Indians too, have been languishing in prisons overseas - some for a few years, some for decades. Their voices and appeals unheard because of the lack of proximity to their home country.
After being elected the first time in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted this situation to be tackled on priority by the Ministry of External Affairs. At the time, the number of Indians in jails abroad had well exceeded 10,000. Many of those prisoners were in jail for petty reasons - like fishermen, who unknowingly ventured into the territorial waters of a neighbouring nation, or villagers who inadvertently crossed an unmarked border post, or travellers who accidentally overstayed their visa limit.
Over the last decade the Government of India has stepped up efforts to bring back such Indian nationals and allow them a fresh start. While the Ministry of External Affairs, through diplomacy and its network of embassies and consulates, has helped secure the release of many such individuals, some tougher negotiations has seen a direct involvement by the prime minister, who, over his three terms so far, has build on a rapport with global leaders far and wide.
The freedom of nearly 10,000 Indian nationals have been secured so far since 2014, a release by the Ministry of External Affairs has said. "The latest instance is the pardon of 500 Indian prisoners in UAE," the foreign ministry said, adding that "It reflects the strong bilateral ties between India and UAE".
"Since 2014, the prime minister has prioritised the welfare of Indian citizens abroad, ensuring the safe return of nearly 10,000 Indian nationals imprisoned abroad through diplomatic negotiations and high-level interventions," the statement read.
It highlighted some key instances where several countries agreed to release or pardon Indian nationals due to diplomatic efforts:
- UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Between 2022 and 2025, each year UAE has pardoned hundreds of Indian prisoners, including some during the holy month of Ramzan or the festival of Eid. In 2022, UAE released 639 Indian prisoners. In 2023, the count went beyond 700. In 2024 944, and in 2025, it has been 500 so far.
- SAUDI ARABIA - In 2019, during his visit to India, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had ordered the release of 850 Indian prisoners.
- QATAR - In a big diplomatic victory for New Delhi, after much negotiations, including at the highest levels, Qatar agreed to the release of 8 Indian Navy veterans who were facing a death penalty. Most of them were subsequently allowed to return to India.
- IRAN - In 2023 and 2024, Iran released 43 and 77 Indian nationals respectively from its jails. In 2023, out of the 43, 12 were fishermen.
- BAHRAIN - As a gesture of friendship and kindness, the Government of Bahrain decided to release 250 Indians who were in prison in 2019. They were freed during PM Modi's visit to the country that year.
- KUWAIT - In 2017, after several rounds of talks via diplomatic channels, the Emir of Kuwait agreed to release 22 Indian nationals and reduce the sentences for 97 others.
- SRI LANKA - After regular interventions and mediation via diplomatic channels, Sri Lanka has, on many occasions, released Indian fishermen who accidentally and unknowingly cross into its territorial waters. Since 2014, a total of 3,697 Indian fishermen have been released by Sri Lanka.
- PAKISTAN - Since 2014, after repeated and relentless diplomatic efforts with Islamabad, New Delhi has managed the release of 2,639 fishermen and 71 civilian prisoners.
Emphasising on the Government of India's "unwavering commitment" to protecting Indian citizens abroad, the statement said that "A lot of these breakthroughs were made possible due to the personal rapport PM Modi has build with global leaders."
Over the last decade, India's global diplomatic and economic stature has grown significantly, the Ministry of External Affairs said.

US Teen Raped, Hands Cut Off. "Animal" Father Arrested After Shootout
The body of a 13-year-old Ohio girl, who went missing roughly a week ago, was found inside an abandoned home, The New York Post reported. The police shot at and arrested her father on suspicion of raping and murdering her. The arrest came a day after he appeared on TV to raise awareness about her disappearance.
The girl, Keimani Latigue, was found dead in a burned-out, abandoned building a few days before her 14th birthday. The Columbus Police Department lieutenant, Brian Steel, said the victim was murdered, raped, had her hands and throat almost cut off.
Mr Steel said, "This case is one of the most horrific cases I've ever heard."
Ms Latigue's father, Darnell Jones, went on local news and talked about the last time he saw his daughter. He claimed that Ms Latigue, who used to stay with his grandmother but was home alone that night, called him on March 16, saying she was scared because it seemed like someone was trying to break into the house.
Police were suspicious after he gave different and conflicting statements about Ms Latigue's whereabouts and what they did together. According to the charge documents, the police then issued an arrest warrant against the 33-year-old on Sunday.
He was arrested in Columbus, about two hours south of Toledo. He was in possession of a gun at the time of his arrest.
The victim's mother, Tiara Kasten, said she saw her daughter on March 15 when Jones brought her to the house.
Upon reaching home, the teen's grandmother, Dorothy Latigue, found her home messy. She said she found Ms Latigue's underclothes near the couch and her pyjamas on the dining room floor.
An autopsy report confirmed that Ms Latigue died of multiple "incised wounds of the neck." Mr Steel said, "This is an absolute animal that came into our town."
A Toledo Public Schools spokesperson said that Ms Keimani had been on the honour list at her elementary school and was scheduled to receive a kindness award this week.

Did Shivaji Have A Dog? Call To Remove Dog Memorial From Raigad Fort
Former Rajya Sabha member and a descendant of the Kolhapur royal family, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati, has asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to remove the memorial of a dog from Raigad Fort.
The memorial, built in 1920s, was for "Waghya" meaning "Tiger".
Legend has it that he was a mix breed dog of the Maratha emperor. When Shivaji died, the dog apparently jumped onto his funeral pyre and immolated himself.
The Archaeological Survey of India, however, maintained that there is no documentary evidence of such a dog, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati has claimed.
The former MLA, in a letter to the Chief Minister dated March 22, has stressed that the dog's memorial should be removed before May 31.
"A few decades ago, a memorial of a dog named Waghya was erected near that of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Raigad Fort, his capital in the 17th century," his letter read.
"However, there is no documentary evidence concerning Waghya, the name of the pet dog of Shivaji Maharaj. As there is no such evidence, it is an encroachment on the fort, which is legally preserved as a heritage structure," he had added.
"It is unfortunate and demeans the legacy of the great Shivaji Maharaj," said the ex-MP.
A structure older than 100 years is protected as per ASI's policy. The dog's commemorative structure should be removed before it earns such a status, Sambhajiraje added.

iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max Dummy Units Hint at These Design Changes
Apple's iPhone 17 series of smartphones is expected to arrive with certain changes to the rear panel, and these purported design changes been spotted in a fresh set of images showing dummy units of the handsets. The successors to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are said to arrive with larger camera modules, and feature a rear panel made of glass and aluminium. Previous reports suggest that the regular iPhone 17 will arrive without any major design changes, while the iPhone 16 Plus will make way for a new iPhone 17 Air model.
iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max Design (Expected)
A new image showing dummy units of the purported iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max was leaked by X (formerly Twitter) user Sonny Dickson. Unlike the pictures of metal iPhone 17 series dummies that were previously posted by the same user, this image gives us a good look at the design changes on the Pro models.
Here's another look at some iPhone 17 dummies, Notice on the Pro models where the glass will change. pic.twitter.com/lJDc5KXsV9
— Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) March 20, 2025
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max dummy units seen in the leaked image have an enlarged rear camera island, unlike their predecessors. While the company's current flagship smartphones are equipped with a rear panel made of glass, recent reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will sport a rear panel made of glass and metal.
The leaked image corroborates previous claims that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a rear panel made of glass and aluminium. The image shared by Dickson suggests that the glass are will cover the lower half of the handset, which includes the MagSafe area. The aluminium portion could surround this area and the raised camera module, which now stretches across the top part of the rear panel.
Earlier this week, the user shared another set of images showing metal dummies of the iPhone 17 series. These pictures indicated that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro could arrive with the same 6.3-inch display. The iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro Max appear to be larger, and the latter is expected to be the biggest in the lineup.
Both sets of images indicate that the regular iPhone 17 won't arrive with noticeable design changes compared with the current iPhone 16 model. It could be the only handset in the iPhone 17 series with a vertical camera layout. The iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to take the place of the iPhone 16 Plus as Apple's slimmest phone to date, is seen with a single rear camera.

A Timeline Of Yuzvendra Chahal And Dhanashree Verma's Relationship
Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma are now officially divorced. The former couple were granted the decree of divorce by the Mumbai family court on Thursday.
Yuzvendra and Dhanashree, who got married in 2020, have been living separately for the past 18 months. They filed a joint petition before the court seeking divorce by mutual consent in February 2025.
Let us take a look at Yuzvendra Chahal And Dhanashree Verma's relationship timeline:
Love at first dance
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's love story began in 2020 when the cricketer signed up for Dhanashree's online classes during the COVID-19 lockdown. The student-teacher relationship soon turned into something more meaningful and they fell in love.
Engagement announcement
After dating for only a few months, the couple decided to get married and announced their engagement via a picture-perfect post on Instagram.
Dream wedding
In December 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma got married in a traditional ceremony in Gurgaon. The grand affair was attended by their close friends and family.
Two years of public appearances and love
With their marriage off to a great start, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree soon became one of the most followed couples on social media.
Whether it was their adorable dancing videos or Dhanashree's appearances at Yuzvendra's cricket matches, the fans were enamoured by the duo.
Rumours begin
In 2023, their relationship started to show the first signs of weakness. The couple's social media interactions were few and far between. An increasing number of cryptic Instagram posts fuelled suspicions of impending disaster.
Signs of separation
Over the course of the months, the rumours evolved into serious conjecture. Yuzvendra Chahal removed the photos from social media towards the end of the year. The duo also unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Divorce confirmation
In February 2025, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree were spotted outside Bandra Family Court. The couple filed a joint petition for divorce by mutual consent, requesting a waiver of the mandatory six-month cooling-off period. They were granted the decree of divorce earlier today by the Mumbai family court.

Kim Sae-Ron Row: Why Good Day Is Deleting All Kim Soo-Hyun Scenes
Kim Soo Hyun is embroiled in controversy following revelations about his relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-Ron.
According to reports from the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, which released a phone conversation with Sae-Ron's aunt, the two were allegedly in a secret relationship since 2015, when Sae-Ron was only 15 years old and Kim Soo Hyun was 27.
In response to the controversy, luxury brand Prada terminated its ambassador relationship with Kim Soo Hyun on March 14. In their statement, Prada explained: "We would like to inform you that after considering the severity of the issue, our collaboration with Kim Soo Hyun has been mutually concluded. The contract has been terminated. The decision came from headquarters."
The production team of the Korean drama Good Day is the latest one to take action against the actor. The team announced their decision to remove scenes featuring Kim Soo Hyun from the show.
They released a detailed statement apologising to viewers for the sudden changes and explaining the technical challenges involved.
According to their statement, Episode 5 was edited urgently to remove Kim Soo Hyun's footage from the Good Day General Assembly segment, resulting in an episode approximately 10 minutes shorter than usual with some narrative gaps.
The production team explained that pre-production requirements for translation meant that episodes were completed two weeks before airing, which complicated their response to the developing situation.
The statement also addressed a March 13 recording session that proceeded despite the controversy. The production team explained they had been waiting for an official statement from Kim Soo Hyun's agency, which informed them that their statement would be released the following week and that securing the actor's schedule after that date would be difficult.
The team ultimately conducted the recording with "careful consideration," minimising interaction with other cast members and preparing for the possibility of editing the footage.
For future episodes, the production team has decided to edit out Kim Soo Hyun's appearances as much as possible and the individual recording session from March 13 will not be aired. They expressed concern that the controversy could damage the show's reputation and the sincerity of other cast members.
Beyond Prada and Good Day, other brands are reportedly reassessing their relationships with the actor. Vegan beauty brand Dinto has suspended all promotional activities featuring Kim Soo Hyun, and bakery chain Tous les Jours has removed advertisements featuring him from their social media accounts as of March 12.
Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, initially denied romantic involvement between the actor and Kim Sae-Ron but later confirmed, though they claimed the relationship began only after Sae-Ron turned 19, the legal age in Korea. The agency also acknowledged that Soo Hyun had been "guiding" Sae-Ron since she was 15.
Reports suggest that Kim Sae-Ron, whose career suffered significantly following a 2022 DUI incident where she crashed into public property while intoxicated, faced substantial financial pressure afterwards.
She reportedly accumulated a 700 million won debt following the DUI case, which Kim Soo Hyun's agency allegedly pressured her to repay, threatening legal action when she requested more time.
The agency also reportedly prevented assistance from her The Man from Nowhere co-star Won Bin, who had offered to help with the debt.
Kim Sae-Ron died on Kim Soo Hyun's birthday this year.

Scientists Create Skin-Like Hydrogel That Heals Wounds 90% In 4 Hours
In an exciting scientific discovery, researchers from Aalto University and the University of Bayreuth have developed a revolutionary self-healing hydrogel that mimics the qualities of human skin. This innovative material can repair itself up to 90% in just four hours and fully restore within 24 hours, offering new potential for wound care, regenerative medicine, and artificial skin technologies.
Gels are commonly found in everyday products, from hair treatments to food textures, but replicating the complex qualities of human skin has always been a challenge. Skin is flexible, durable, and possesses an extraordinary ability to heal. Until now, scientists struggled to develop a material that could combine both the flexibility and healing properties found in human skin. This new hydrogel, made possible through nanosheet-enhanced polymer entanglement, has solved this problem.
This outstanding discovery has been found in the study that was published today (March 7) in the prestigious journal Nature Materials. Researchers enhanced a hydrogel by adding ultra-thin, large clay nanosheets. Hydrogels are usually soft and squishy, but this new material forms a highly organised structure with densely entangled polymers between the nanosheets. This not only strengthens the hydrogel but also allows it to heal itself after damage.
"Many biological tissues are mechanically strong and stiff but can still heal from damage. By contrast, synthetic hydrogels have not shown comparable combinations of properties, as current stiffening approaches inevitably suppress the required chain/bond dynamics for self-healing," the authors of the study said.
The self-repairing gel offers an exciting step forward in various fields, including wound healing, drug delivery, soft robotics, and prosthetics. The material's ability to quickly and effectively heal makes it a promising candidate for advancing medical treatments, offering hope for faster recovery times for burn victims, surgical patients, and those with chronic wounds.

"Some Bully Governments Insist On Negotiations": Khamenei After Trump Threat
Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday slammed what he described as bullying tactics a day after US President Donald Trump threatened military action against Iran.
"Some bully governments -- I really don't know of any more appropriate term for some foreign figures and leaders than the word bullying -- insist on negotiations," Khamenei told officials after Trump threatened military action if Iran refuses to engage in talks over its nuclear programme.
"Their negotiations are not aimed at solving problems, they aim at domination," Khamenei said.
On Friday, Trump said he had written to Iran's supreme leader, urging new talks on the country's nuclear programme or face possible military action if it refuses.
Khamenei said on Saturday that bullying powers aim to assert their own expectations.
"They are setting new expectations that they think will definitely not be met by Iran," he said, without naming the United States or referring to Trump's letter.
On Friday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told AFP in an interview that Tehran would not negotiate under "maximum pressure", although he did not directly address Trump's letter.
Trump reinstated his policy from his first term of maximum pressure on Iran upon returning to the White House in January.
Under this policy, the United States in 2018 withdrew from the Iran nuclear accord formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
The JCPOA, set between Tehran and western powers in 2015, had offered relief from economic sanctions in exchange for limits on Iran's nuclear activities.
Tehran has in recent months engaged in diplomatic efforts with three European countries -- Britain, France and Germany -- aimed at resolving issues surrounding its nuclear ambitions.
However on Saturday, Khamenei also slammed the three European countries for "declaring that Iran has not fulfilled its nuclear commitments under the JCPOA".
"You say that Iran has not fulfilled its commitments under the JCPOA. Okay, have you fulfilled your commitments under the JCPOA?" he responded.
Peaceful nature
Khamenei said Tehran had abided by its commitments for a year but there was "no other way" but to roll back from these under the deal following legislation by the country's parliament.
US officials now estimate that Iran could produce a nuclear weapon within weeks if it chose to do so.
Tehran has consistently denied pursuing nuclear weapons, emphasising the peaceful nature of its nuclear programme.
Officials have always cited a religious decree issued by Khamenei that prohibits the development of such weapons.
Last month, Khamenei reiterated his opposition to negotiations with the United States, calling this "unwise" just days after Trump called for a new nuclear deal.
Khamenei accused Washington of having "ruined, violated, and tore up" the 2015 agreement.
In 2019, more than a year after Trump's withdrawal from the JCPOA, Japan's then premier Shinzo Abe visited Iran in an attempt to mediate between Tehran and Washington.
But Khamenei firmly rejected the possibility of talks with the United States, saying he did not "consider Trump as a person worthy of exchanging messages with".

US And Ukraine Prepare To Sign Minerals Deal Today: Report
U.S. President Donald Trump's administration and Ukraine plan to sign the much-debated minerals deal following a disastrous Oval Office meeting Friday in which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was dismissed from the building, four people familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.
President Donald Trump has told his advisers that he wants to announce the agreement in his address to Congress Tuesday evening, three of the sources said, cautioning that the deal had yet to be signed and the situation could change.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ukraine's presidential administration in Kyiv and the Ukrainian embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The deal was put on hold on Friday after a contentious Oval Office meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that resulted in the Ukrainian leader's swift departure from the White House. Zelenskiy had traveled to Washington to sign the deal.
In that meeting, Trump and Vice President JD Vance berated Zelenskiy, telling him he should thank the U.S. for its support rather than asking for additional aid in front of the U.S. media.
"You're gambling with World War III," Trump said.
U.S. officials have in recent days spoken to officials in Kyiv about signing the minerals deal despite Friday's blow-up, and urged Zelenskiy's advisers to convince the Ukrainian president to apologize openly to Trump, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.
On Tuesday, Zelenskiy posted on X that Ukraine was ready to sign the deal and calling the Oval Office meeting "regrettable."
"Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be," Zelenskiy said in his post. "Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer."
It was unclear if the deal has changed. The deal that was to be signed last week included no explicit security guarantees for Ukraine but gave the U.S. access to revenues from Ukraine's natural resources. It also envisaged the Ukrainian government contributing 50% of future monetization of any state-owned natural resources to a U.S.-Ukraine managed reconstruction investment fund.
On Monday, Trump signaled that his administration remained open to signing the deal, telling reporters in a gaggle that Ukraine "should be more appreciative."
"This country has stuck with them through thick and thin," Trump said. "We've given them much more than Europe, and Europe should have given more than us."

"Dismayed": Shashi Tharoor On Kerala Startups Days After Remark Sparked Row
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Sunday backtracked on his stance regarding industrial growth in Kerala, stating that the state needs more MSME start-ups — not just on paper.
Sharing a news report from an English daily on 'X', Mr Tharoor expressed disappointment over the state's start-up ecosystem, saying it was not as promising as reported.
"Dismayed to see that the Kerala start-up entrepreneurship story is not what's been reported," he posted.
The news report he shared claimed that over 42,000 MSMEs had shut down in Kerala over the past nine years, resulting in the loss of employment for at least 1,03,764 workers.
"The only silver lining is that at least the GoK's claims point to the right intentions. We need more MSME start-ups— and not just on paper. Kerala must head this way!" his post added.
However, State Industries Minister P Rajeeve dismissed the news report as "baseless." "I provided a detailed reply in the Assembly on February 10. Recently, Union Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal stated in Parliament that 1,700 MSMEs shut down in Kerala over the past four years," he said.
Mr Rajeeve further pointed out that while 30 per cent of MSMEs in the country shut down within their first year, the figure in Kerala was only 15 per cent.
He alleged that the report was published with ulterior motives, as it did not cite the source of its figures.
Mr Tharoor's recent remarks on Kerala's industrial growth sparked controversy within the Congress state unit.
The Congress Working Committee member ruffled feathers in the party after writing an article in an English daily praising the industrial policy of the Pinarayi Vijayan government in Kerala.
Notably, the Thiruvananthapuram MP's post came just two days after the Congress leadership held a brainstorming session with Kerala leaders at the party headquarters in New Delhi to strategise for next year's Assembly polls.

Black Woman In Charge Of US Military Health Agency Forced To Resign: Report
US Army Lieutenant General Telita Crosland, the head of the military's health agency and one of the most senior Black female officers in the Army, was forced to retire on Friday, two sources told Reuters. The move comes just a week after President Donald Trump fired the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other senior officers, in an unprecedented shake-up.
Although Crosland's retirement was publicly announced, Reuters is first to report that she was forced to end her 32-year military career.
On Friday, Stephen Ferrara, the acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, said that Crosland had started her retirement.
"I want to thank Crosland for her dedication to the nation, to the military health system, and to Army medicine for the past 32 years," Ferrara said in a statement.
But a current and former official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Crosland had been told that she must retire. She was not given a reason why, the officials, said.
The Pentagon declined to say why Crosland retired and referred Reuters to the Defense Health Agency. The DHA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has moved quickly to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at the Pentagon, arguing that they are divisive.
Earlier this month, Hegseth said he thought that "diversity is our strength" was the "single dumbest phrase in military history."
Hegseth has also ended commemorations of identity month celebrations, like Black History Month and Women's History Month.
Diversity, equity and inclusion programs seek to promote opportunities for women, ethnic minorities and other traditionally underrepresented groups. Civil rights advocates argue that such programs, generally backed by Democrats, are needed to address longstanding inequities and structural racism.
In an article posted on the health agency's website last year, Crosland downplayed her identity as a Black female in the Army.
"I don't actually frame anything I do day-in and day-out in the terms of my race or my gender. That's always been a hard question for me to answer," she said.
"It's not because I don't understand the responsibility ... certainly, there are challenges that come from being a woman in the military, there are challenges that come from being African American, and being in the military."
