Manafort trial: Russia-probe origins, but a main focus on fraud

One year ago, on July 25, 2017, FBI agents working with special counsel Robert Mueller presented a thick stack of papers under seal to a federal magistrate in Alexandria, Va. It is unclear at this point whether investigators have discovered evidence of collusion involving Manafort and the Russians.
